Inutile cercare persone che camminano ai lati della strada, spesso per chilometri non ci sono né marciapiedi né passaggi pedonali. Le piazze all'aperto sono un arredo urbano superfluo, in un paese in cui per gran parte dell'anno si superano i 40 gradi.
Una città in cui la popolazione è composta per appena il 20% da autoctoni: l'80% è costituito da immigrati.

A city in which our identity anchors come unhinged.
It is useless to look for people walking by the side of the road, often for miles there are no sidewalks or crosswalks. Outdoor plazas are superfluous street furniture in a country where for much of the year it is over 40 degrees.
A city where the population is barely 20 percent natives: 80 percent are immigrants.
